Media Village in Argentina, Small Beginnings

The Media Village team is shooting a story that is tracking the history of Harvest Evangelism in San Nicolás & Rosario Argentina. Nearly 50 years a young boy started believing that the Christian faith was not just meant to be a faith that lived behind closed doors and that God wanted to change not just individuals but also cities and nations.
Over the past few days we have shoot outside the house that Ed Silvoso called home as a child. We have gone out to the training facility where the Silvoso family built a chapel in the days of Ed’s illness. We have interviewed people who starting “getting the picture” – slowly but surely one person after the other began to move out of their comfort zone and started trusting God for the impossible. At this stage the Harvest team knew that there were 109 villages in a 100km range of they started trusting God for these communities. About six months ago the last of the 109 villages got a church. This was the end of a cycle. A cycle that has taken nearly 30 years.
In the early days of the ministry the Harvest team evicted a witchdoctor in the city or Arroyo Seco. Today we interviewed his grandson, who is now a marketplace minister. He never met his grandfather but he knew the stories, he heard about the control that this man had over his 12 ‘disciples’ – the entire community lived in fear of his power. Shortly after the “spiritual eviction” his business started dimensioning. Today there is a Baptist church on the site.
Prayer
changes
things.
At the heart of this story that Media Village is shooting is the idea that none of us should dispise the day of small beginnings.
A young boy.
A Vision
A faith that would alter the destiny of people and cities.
We all have histories, We all have stories that started somewhere in the past, but not all of us have the faith to believe that we have the potential to change the destiny of nations.
I wonder why?
Now is the time to start new dreams.
Imagine.
Imagine hundreds of people dreaming big dreams, but being willing to start small…
If we have the faith to believe and the patience to wait for the dreams to be fulfilled
maybe
we
could all help to change the world.
Time to have a small beginning.
